(Sorry, was requested as a post.. to make up for double posting, I will make this a little fun)
You are my favorite question asker person ever.

Yea, DP.. a question, but it’s not about you this time, it’s about Remy so—

Wade, how rude! Go to your room! (I’ll be there soon..)
I have a Gambit thing and a Rogue and Gambit thing. Remy LeBeau is just super suave and even when I was a little girl, he was what got me into the X-men. He’s charming, handsome, and is the quintessential bad boy with a good heart. Plus, his weapon of choice is playing cards and I absolutely love cards and am a huge fan of poker. Remy really was the guy for me.
He believes in living life simply even though his life is anything but with an ex-wife, a love he can’t touch, a brotherhood he left behind, and a family he can never quite trust (even tho he gets so butthurt when they don’t trust him) or feel comfortable fitting in with.

Gambit and Rogue, how do I begin to relate all my feelings on these two star crossed lovers.. their relationship is so complex but it’s one of those that has really stood the test of time. Remy is a total horndog. He seriously will flirt with anything that moves, but to get him to love you, that is something very elusive and difficult to acquire. Remy is attracted to passion and loooooves a challenge so when he and Rogue first crossed paths and she resisted him, partly because he was a pig and partly because he didn’t take her powers seriously and could have caused some major damage, it just made him pursue her more.
But I think there’s more to it than that. Remy and Rogue are very similar creatures who come from very dark backgrounds and are both just desperately trying to seek the light. They both have a hard time trusting anyone (even each other), they have commitment issues, they both feel like anything good in their lives is temporary or an illusion (even each other), and they both feel like they’re destined for pain and misery as atonement for the sins of their past. These things draw them to each other but are the very things that push them apart. They both claim to crave and need each other but mainly when the other person is unavailable and pulling away. The second one of them decides to be vulnerable, the other one gets scared off.

What’s interesting is that Gambit is a highly sexual guy, he kisses many girls and you can tell he really enjoys the fairer sex in every way possible.. but he’s chosen a woman he cannot touch or be intimate with. (Not including the times when Rogue was powered down, for the most part of their storyline they cannot touch skin to skin or kiss) So for me personally this was a really unique choice on his part and just showed how deep his character goes. Rogue’s powers literally prevent her from getting close to people for fear of accidentally hurting them. I think Gambit not only is attracted to this but understands it. He likes that he can’t ever be too close because the idea of actually fully being with someone is scary, and here he has an excuse with Rogue’s power.
Even in the alternate universe when Rogue was with Magneto, she and Gambit still had an undeniable attraction to each other just proving there is a bond forged between them for life. They go through rough patches and go their separate ways, but in the end, these two only come home to each other.
One of these days I promise I’ll respond with just a gif or something o_o
